Society president Patrick Bixby has announced the opening of the latest round of Ruby Cohn Bursaries.

The Samuel Beckett Society is committed to strengthening the field of Beckett Studies by supporting new scholarship from early career researchers. In this spirit of inclusion and to honour an outstanding past member and scholar, we would like to invite postgraduate researchers, as well those within eight years of submitting their PhDs and who are not in permanent full-time academic employment to apply for a Ruby Cohn Travel Bursary to support their attendance at the Beckett and Justice conference in Los Angeles in June 2024.

These awards of £400 (GBP) are limited in number and are restricted to those whose papers have been accepted by the conference committee. If you would like your proposal to be considered, please send your accepted abstract to Prof. Patrick Bixby at beckettsociety@gmail.com by Friday 26 January. Please include details of your current academic status and how you qualify for inclusion in the competition. Let us know if you will receive or be eligible for other sources of funding.
